INFORMATION FOR OUR

PATIENTS, VISITORS AND STAFF

The staff at Western Hospital are here to look after you through the Covid-19 health alert. The following information is aimed to help ensure your safety and wellbeing when visiting the Hospital.

The health and wellbeing of our patients, carers, visitors and our staff is our number one priority at all times.

Everyone will be required to undergo health screening prior to entering Western Hospital.

 

You should not enter the hospital if:

 

  • you have a temperature higher than 38 degrees Celsius, fever, chills or symptoms of acute respiratory infection in the preceding 72 hours 

  • you have had a COVID-19 test and are awaiting the test results

  • you have been a known contact with a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 

  • you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

  • you have been advised by a doctor or public health authority to self isolate.

COVID-19 Mandatory Screening at the Hospital Main Entrance

Everyone entering the hospital must upload their relevant contact details to the approved contact tracing system - mySA GOV app - COVID-Safe QR code. 

 

Before you come into the hospital, please download the mySA GOV app (no login or sign up is required to use the check-in). This is recommended to ensure a seamless and prompt check-in at Western Hospital and other locations as you will only need to enter your details and complete the verification process the first time you use the COVID-SAFE CHECK-IN at any location when using the mySA GOV app. Please note: You can still check-in using your smart phone camera, although you will need to upload your details and complete verification each and every time you use COVID-SAFE CHECK-IN.

 

Upon arrival, please ensure that you have your smart phone ready and that you opened your mySA GOV app and the COVID-SAFE CHECK-IN tile or if you do not have the app you have your camera open. Scan the Hospital’s COVID-SAFE CHECK-IN entry QR Code that is displayed in multiple locations at the hospital’s entrance and a secure web form will open. Please follow the prompts to complete verification and check-in. Show your check-in pass on your smart phone screen to our staff as they complete your temperature screening.

 

A paper recording log is available as a back-up for people who don’t have a smart phone.

Physical Distancing and Density Principles

  • Anyone who enters Western Hospital must maintain physical distance from others (1.5M)

  • Occupancy limits are in effect throughout the hospital. Please check signage or ask a staff member for more information.

Visitor Restrictions

 

  • Western Hospital will continue to restrict visitors to ICU, Day Procedure and Oncology

  • Accompanying persons or visitors will be subject to meeting safe physical distancing and room occupancy limits.
